So this past week has brought many wonderful things :)

This snap was taken in Jeremy and Rogers loft on Saturday night, The artist singing is "FLO"(you might recognize her from the latest issue of sandbox magazine. http://www.sandboxmag.com/ She belted out the type of sound that would make babies stop crying and angels drop from the sky just to listen to her sweet melodies. Ryan on Guitar accompanied the set for a perfect acoustic show for the 20 or so fabulous people Roger and Jeremy had accumulated :D Thank you for a lovely evening Gentleman.

I thought the leaves blowing in the wind early Sunday morning had wonderful hues, the camera didn't capture what I hoped for, however it surprised me all the same :D

RAINNNNNN!!! Saturday was a heavy day wasn't it? I believe our city needed a good rain like that, it washed away the dust and left a beautiful smell in the air, I hope you enjoyed it friends.

What would a week be without sewing, hmmmm weird I think...
This pair of shorts is almost done, I've sewn it together now its a matter of distressing/beating them into warn submission.

This pair of unique looking pants are for a client who brings in his own fabric, yes you can bring me fabric and i'll make something sweet from it :)

WINNIPEG FASHION INCUBATOR was this past Thursday, thank you to those who attended!!! The event which had a mini fashion show and a boutique market of 8 local designers went off without a hitch. This was the first event for the WFI, a fall/winter show is in the works, stay tuned for more information :D This picture was my setup.

I dont have a vehicle which would fit my large shelving unit so was forced to drag it home on a dolly cart...Im tough so it wasn't such a big deal (hahaha tough, right...it was a pain!)

Saturday around noon I left the studio for Mondragon to get some fresh produce. On my walk I heard a nice rhythm from Arthur st, being curious by nature I strolled over with my feet a tapping and my ass shaking to the sound of this sweet music. These two were rocking out hard, it was AWESOME!!!!

I had to deliver a pair of jeans to a client, the forks was the meeting point. I wondered around the halls of the forks to find that it really didn't have anything that represented our city or culture. Whats the deal with that? Nothing about the forks allows visitors to get to know us? How can we change this? perhaps taking it back for markets? thoughts?

While at the forks I looked up at the sky for a little inspiration and was blown away by the beauty of blue and white clouds drifting through the air. It lifted my heart :)

Do you remember being a kid and playing with playdough? If you did, then im sure you remember the smell of it and perhaps you even tried a little taste. Welllll that smell/taste is kind of what this solgurt tastes like, only the first bite tho, once your past the first bite, it really isn't that bad!!!!

This is the pair of jeans I had to deliver to the forks market :) You cant see it that well but the two tone of threads really made the prairie grass special, I love them and I know the girl who owns them will too!

I stood a while starring at the new human rights museum they are constructing, Im going to be proud when I can say that Winnipeg has its first official castle....not really but it kind of looks like one, dont you think?

Another week has gone by and another Monday is drifting past as I write to you wherever you might be!!! I hope that someone will someday write back to me because each week I post im putting something out into the universe, it hasn't come back yet...Does this mean Im doing something wrong??? How can I make this more interesting for you friends, what would you like to see/read about? Anything helps so dont feel to cool to write back!!! please email me at info@lennardtaylor.com

Thanks and much love to all :D

Gardens, Jeans, Hockey and beans

HELLO WORLD :D

I awoke this morning extremely happy, maybe its the weather we had over the weekend but either way I feel great and you should to because we are all alive :D My dare to you is to say hi to someone you don't know this week and give them a smile, you will very much enjoy the response you get :D promise!

This unique jacket is now property of an interesting young man. He saw me wearing my extra long raw denim coat and was intrigued. I said he could try it on and of course it fit him perfectly, buttons were added to the top so he could close it when the weather was chilly. Again I sell something from my back, its funny how that keeps happening to me...

The photo I took of this fortune cookie turned out blurry, sorry for that, but the message struck me. "your hard work is about to pay off" the cookie predicted...will you come buy some of my clothing and make it come true :D :D :D :D

I don't know how many of you are following the playoffs, but I find myself waiting for the first intermission so I can see what Don Cherry has come to work in. Where does he get these crazy suits made? Who picks the fabric and do you think he ever refuses to wear any of them? What happens to them after hes worn them once? hmmmm a mystery for scooby doo no doubt

Again another week has passed and I seem to still be making clothing, weird? I think not, I love it!!!! This fresh pair of jeans for Derrick came out great, he can dress them up or down, but since spring has arrived, I suggest a crisp white tee or a little hit of colour :D

Well if you've been following the blog the last few weeks you might have noticed I enjoy a sunset or two. The colours that we are blessed to see in our prairie sky are nothing short of spectacular!!!

FLOWERSSSSSSSSSSSS :D YEAH YEAH YEAH :D :D :D
Taking a minute to smell and admire our ground friends will not only make the body feel good but it will also brighten your day.

I snapped this quick shot of a blossoming tree, the picture of course doesn't do it justice however you get the idea. Busy bee's are hovering all around the tree, preparing the honey for our tea :)

Last week I posted about the vegetable garden we are building in my moms backyard. Sunday was the perfect day to finish the construction. Laural, Krystle and I went to work for several hours to construct this giant bed!!! I cannot wait to put soil in and plant those delightful little veggies and LOTS of beans because beans beans the magical fruit the more you eat them the more you toot :D

I received an email that almost made me cry this week, the letter was as follows.

"I have to admit I have heard about your rise to fashion fame over the past few years but I was rather blown away last week. I was shooting the Rainbow Society event and make no mistake, I spotted your pieces amongst the model chaos instantly. (I've even noticed a few Winnipegers out and about sporting some exclusively rad jeans!)

Anyways, I've been editing the images for Swish over the past week and I'm still blown away by your work as it clearly stands out from the rest; thus from one artist to another, I felt the need to tell you so..."

I've left out her name for privacy but wow even when I'm writing/proofing this now it brings a little bit of warmth to my heart, what a wonderful thing to write to someone :D Again as I said at the start of this weeks post, go out of your way to smile at someone today!

One last thing, the launch event for the Winnipeg Fashion Incubator is THIS THURSDAY MAY 19TH at Fame nightclub (279 garry st)!!!!!! I've posted the link to the event page on facebook, please join and share the event so we can get the turn out the event needs :D

Open Studio, Fashion Show, Breakfasts and Upcoming

This past week was a mix of a whole lot! I had my public studio showing on Friday and Saturday, A BIG THANK YOU to those who came down to support my way of life :D

Everyone who attended gave me great feedback on the work I've been doing, that meant a great deal to me!Whats a showing without beautiful friends :)
This was part of my installation for the show, I love the way it was received and cannot wait to explore more. Stay tuned for more...

This is the Julie Dress, I was inspired the other day and created this little number. Because I only made one and will only make one the dress is named after the girl who bought it :D

Immediately after the showing on Saturday I grabbed my collection and jumped in a cab to the Delta Hotel. Swish Model Management (http://www.swishmodelmanagement.com/) was hosting a fashion show in support of the Rainbow Resource Center. Swish was kind enough to ask for my collection in this VERY professional fashion show. Thank you Swish! The photo below was the finale, hence all the models on the runway at the same time.

Rory was headed to England on Sunday, so amidst the flurry of things I was doing for the show I managed to make his pair of jeans and deliver after the fashion show...As you might have guessed I didn't really get much sleep on the weekend.
I really like the two tone prairie grass stitching I did for him!

I had breakfast with my mom the other day in the Underground Cafe which is located in the Silpit building on Arthur street in the exchange district, I love the art on the walls!!! such a beautiful place, very cozy. I strongly suggest!

Its garden season and My mom and Sister above are talking about our new garden!!! It will be a raised bed because the ground in that part of my moms yard used to be a parking pad. I cannot wait to get my green thumb working hard in the vegetable garden to get the rewards of fresh organic food!

My sister made this dessert for breakfast on Sunday, It was EPIC!!!!!!

Shorts, Hockey, Shoots and Politics

Good morning, Good day, Good Evening wherever you might be in the world :) Its amazing that I can post something on the inter-web and many friends from around the world can see and interact with what I've posted. This brings a smile to my face to know we are all connected :D

This week in product I'm showing you a pair of denim shorts I made for my client Corey, he wanted shorts made of denim with zipper pockets so nothing would fall out while he was sitting. He was very happy with the above and below pair :)

Only one back pocket was wanted by this gentleman and being a lefty he wanted it on the left :)

It was a sad week for Montreal fans as they saw the beloved Canadians bow out of the playoffs with a dramatic overtime lose to the Boston Bruins. My girlfriend was very upset...sorry hun, maybe next year!!! I'm pretty bummed too because she looked so cute in her little Canadians jersey!

I found this little picture in the newspaper and chuckled a little, I hope you enjoy it too. Today is voting day in Canada...AGAIN!!!! GEEZZZZZZ lets vote Stephen Harper out!!! Obviously he isn't doing a good job or else we wouldn't keep going to the polls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone else hate that we cant vote directly for the prime minister? I've been talking with many individuals who want to vote for Jack Layton however they do not like the NDP representative in their riding. I've also heard many conservatives say that they are voting conservative however given the chance to vote for the leader of our country they say Layton is the best fit...hmmmm I believe change needs to be made to our system...

This past week was busy and hectic for me because I was gearing up for my spring/summer shoot for 2012. Ryan Wibawa of http://www.virulentvalmont.com/ is in this picture above, it was a pleasure watching him create his art from my clothing and some beautiful models!!!

The studio was transformed for a day of shooting, above Model Akosua of http://www.swishmodelmanagement.com/index.php

I cannot wait to see what wizardry Ryan produces with this shoot!

I'm glad it was cold and rainy outside because it was HOT in the studio!!! hehehe too much?

DON'T FORGET my studio is open to the public THIS FRIDAY, MAY 6th from 5-11 pm to showcase my latest paintings and clothing!!! If you cannot make it on Friday, be sure to come by the NEXT DAY Saturday May 7th from 11am - 5pm to get your fill!!!

So another week opens up to us friends, lets explore the world and see what it has in-store for us! Continue to treat others around you with love and respect as the world will do the same for you.

Love
