The last few days

Meet Jeffs bum, he wanted some minty denim...
we collaborated and talked for a bit...

I made this fresh and minty pair the following week :)

My sister went off to Vancouver so i was cat sitting Milton, he got along well with my girlfriend.
In the midst of getting the studio prepared for the show November 5th art show I had to get ride of a bunch of old wood. Unable to find a new home for it i was forced to go to the dump, it was my first visit. I found it very interesting how as a society we throw away so many things without the conscious thought of were it is going! I know I for one never really thought about it, but after seeing the SIZE of this land devoted solely to "garbage" I am going to be much more aware of what i am "waisting" We all have a choice...whats yours?

On another note, this pair of jeans was made from the last pieces of the black mamba denim. Dont worry friends I have over 20 different kinds and colours of denim...including 6 options of black...

Voting & religion

I think voting is a very important thing for youth, most of us have very little knowledge of whats going on in the campaign and I for one dont really care because it seems that all political figures say these great things and never pull through. All these fancy slogans that campaigners say, such as "I Will Crack Down On Crime" dont really mean anything because they dont do shit!! So how does one know what to vote for??? How can change really happen? I do believe in voting, I've voted ever chance I could, but i dont believe anything these candidates say... Please vote friends, even if it is just to destroy your ballet!!!! Ohhhh and another thing, how is lobbying legal???? WTF?!?!?!?!

This past saturday I was at a dinner party with friends and the subject of religion was brought up, and the talk was of a certain religious center(keeping the name out) in the downtown core that doesn't have to pay property taxes on there building because its against there religion... hmm interesting...someone then brought the information that to become recognized as a religion you have to have more then 30 people at your congregation. In the silliness of the wine in hand we played with the idea of starting our own religion called the Peopleterrians, where paying taxes and parking tickets were against our religion. This religion would be for all people and be pro marriage to anything or anyone you wanted :) Thats as far as we got...Anyone interested in being part of the congregation?

I didn't have a car to go to the fabric store yesterday, so I put my need on facebook and was gifted a ride from a friend. It was nice to feel the love of others as many came to my aid!!! Thanks to all who responded!

ps. Saw a lady cop driving this morning, cell phone to her ear, makeup being applied and knee driving the vehicle...awesome!

430 wake up

I awoke this morning at 422 am...no not to an alarm!!! I just woke feeling rejuvenated and ready to paint, ideas flowing! I didn't just jump out and go but slowly stretched and moved till my being told me it was time to put on those raggedy old painting cloths. I put a fresh canvas down on the rainbow of old paint accumulated over the years. I took a deep breath and started to work my way through what the canvas should look like. After having my guidelines finished i grabbed a sip of water before entering the process of applying my layers of oils. I am pleased with the work that came from within.

ps. Several garments were painted as well

pps. My art show will be November 5th at my studio to coincide with first Fridays in the exchange :)

Wednesday morning

Good morning wonderful people,

Im changing up the usual product shots to tell everyone how beautiful life is this morning! I had a full day yesterday which has left me a bit groggy this morning. My mind wouldn't let my body rest so i had to get out of bed and continue working, I ended up playing around with two of my Judie's(mannequins) and created a couple one of a kind pieces for women. If i ever end up finishing them i'll post them up here for you all to see :) or if you want a sneak peak then send me a message or email me at info@lennardtaylor.com

I hope each and everyone of you who read this will smile and think wonderful warm thoughts today.

Much love

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a great festive meal with friends or family! It was a tough weekend for me but I pulled through alright.
I wanted to share this photo of a pair of jeans i made for my friend Harrison. He picked the denim he wanted and said i just want you to create whatever comes from within, your the artist, just create and I'm sure I'll love them. He did love them when he picked up his fresh pair :)

Art to New York

This set titled "Through Many Shapes We Arrive" is on its way to New York. The two pieces are about the coming together of two to become one.

Sorry about the shit camera work, Im still cursing the person who stole my good camera. Just a heads up I will be having an art show Friday November 5th at my studio, more details to follow.

Elliot

Elliot picked up his pair of straight leg black mambas with prarie grass and patchwork detailing just the other day.
Got a very nice email from Elliot this morning and thought i might share a few pieces of it with all of you. "The fit is excellent. They are without doubt very nearly the best thing I've ever worn. If I didn't know better I'd think the knee & hip areas were articulated and the pair was moving in concert with my joints" and "My wife Sarah absolutely loves them. Best of all, when I sit or squat, nothing remotely strange or weird happens in the hips or crotch which is by far, my biggest peeve."

Emails like that make my day! Thanks Elliot and thank you to all who are reading this.
Love.

Doug

raw blue denim with prairie grass detailing
My friend Doug is a builder and has helped me on a few reno's around the studio in exchange for a pair of jeans. I made him this pair and when he first saw them he thought the prairie grass stitching was a bit to much for his tastes. I told him to try them on and see....once on he loved the prairie grass saying "i thought it would stand out like crazy, but now that i have them on i absolutely love them"

This made me smile :)

continue this day with an open mind friends, you never know what might make you smile :)
