A little bit of everything

Hello, long time no blog hey?!? Sorry about that friends, I really wanted to post on several occasions however due to the virus that has destoryed my computer I was unable to do so. That is a little bit of a cop out, because yes of course I could go out of my way and find a place to use the computer to do the post. Yes I could have done that but then I would have slowed down on the production on my newest line :)

Thats right, last week I was lucky enough to work with Samanta (photographer) to shoot my Fall/Winter 2012 Lennard Taylor Collection! YAYYYYYYYYYY!!! I am very pleased with the creations, and the photos are spectacular! As soon as its all put together I will let you all know by posting on here :)

I wanted to touch base about a friend of mine named Brendon. Him and I were introduced to each other this past summer and have kind of hit it off. Brendon makes unbelievable bags, backpacks, toe straps for bicycles and a few other wicked items. (He also lets me sew some leathers at his studio which is in the exchange church around the corner) Now I try and live a pretty neutral life, I try not to cause harm and try and help those around me when they need. Brendon goes above and beyond almost everyday! Just this past week I was sewing at the Exchange community Church and this crack cocaine addict was having bad withdrawals asked for help. Brendon instantly dropped everything and spent and hour or so on the phone and then ended up taking the guy to a couple places to get him all sorted for the rehab course. Now this isn't the first time he has helped out the homeless in the community, he regularly feeds the lot of them in the church out of his own pocket. He is an inspiration and truly a wonderful human being, just thought you all should know!

In other news I had a fashion show this past weekend for the Never Alone Foundation. The event must have had over 150 volunteers of models, dancers, choreographers, hair, makeup etc etc etc. Wow it was quite a production! I was very pleased to be part of it!!! I will post a video of it as soon as I can :)

I have a couple other opportunities which are starting to blossom, so please keep sending those positive vibes my way and I'll reciprocate by sending more positive vibes out! Much love friends

The First week back is always the hardest

Hello everyone and happy new year :) How were all your holidays? I trust they were wonderful!!!! Please email with warm stories to info@lennardtaylor.com

I started working again after a week off during the holidays, wow what a shocker to get back into it. Monday and Tuesday were returning emails and sketching the final drafts for my 2012 F/W collection. Wednesday was organization and completing application forms for Folkfest and Fringe and then proper football (soccer) of which I busted and crushed my holiday worn body.

owwweeeeeee was thursday morning, my neck and back messed up. I tossed my phone to what I thought was my jacket/sweater and missed and broke it, came to my computer to get phone numbers/emails for people I needed to contact and a virus had destroyed my computer! (I curse hackers/virus makers)

Shoulders/neck still aching I pushed through the rest of the week. The positive that I took away from all the downers of the past week was the fact that I stayed mindful that everything has an opposite reaction. That being said I was saying to myself that while all this bad is happening it must mean that somewhere along the line, something wonderful will happen, this makes me smile! :D

A new week has begun and wowwwzzaaa what a different from last week, I woke this morning bursting with love and energy!!! I am finishing my collection for Fall Winter 2012, Im very excited about this one friends!!!! oooh meee oh my life is wonderful!!! Enjoy the warmth of another day on this wonderful planet!!!!

In other news I have started tweeting :) please follow me @lennardTaylor

Be well and keep smiling,
LT

Back to work

Good morning, afternoon or evening depending on when you read this.

The wonderful tunes of Beirut's album the Rip tide are playing as I slowly organize the studio of Lennard Taylor. December is always a busy month, with craft sales, orders, demands and then the chaos of making presents for family and friends. Im sure you all know what I am talking about! The smooth rhythms that Beirut play make me coast into the work cycle again, not easy but its happening. There is a warmth in my heart about this next year, I feel it will be a very big one, well at least here is to hoping :D

Leather, I am obsessed, I want to continue making leather pieces over and over! Raw edged leathers smooth as butter made into jackets with minimal snaps makes the wearer feel like royalty. I have a couple, oh me oh my I loves them!!! A friend of mine just got back from Turkey and brought me a few lamb skins which feel so good I am scared to work with them!!!! I'll post some pictures soon.

One last thing, Love one another, be with love and love will surround those around you.

Be well friends :)

Thank you to those who came to the WFI first fashion market this past weekend at Red River College!!! It was a huge success and I look forward to the next market which is scheduled for April 7th 2012 at the Red River College, Roblin Center (princess st campus) DONT MISS OUT, mark it in your calender today! WFI Website

I sit on a board for the First Fridays committee which is a group of wonderful men and women who promote and plan First Fridays in the exchange district. Basically the First Friday of each month, artists in the exchange district open up their studios to the public in hopes that they will buy their creations. Its a great way to be up close to what artists studios are like and to be able to ask any questions in an intimate setting. Please come out and support what we do :) First Fridays Website

A friend of mine named Jeff Barkman recently asked me to listen to his album which just dropped on Itunes!!! I very much enjoyed the music and thought I would share that with you!!! Take a look and support a talented guy who puts his heart and soul into his music!

Back to Basics

Not going to lie, blogging got to me a little bit. I dreaded having to post a huge long posts every week. I am going back to the basics, nothing super over the top with ten photos to look at which eats up my time and yours. Alright so here is whats happening with Lennard Taylor, I'm making a painting for Al Gore (yes the man who should have been president instead of that moron bush!) I really wish Gore would have been pres. for the reason that he would have changed our planet for the better!!!

I am busy making garments, mainly leather jackets, accessories and JEANS!!!! I look forward to sharing some new photos with you soon :)

Much love friends
